Still a scheduled weekly posting of 80s cartoons, I do have a good enough number of cartoon videos to find that will keep the blog occupied for a while. The 80s was a time when cartoons really exploded on television, and the first time large corporations took advantage of impressionable kids and parents with the money to make extended cartoon commercials.
Also a time when cartoons started getting outsourced from the United States to places like Japan and Korea in full effect, to varying degrees of success. Hindsight does show how horrible many of these cartoons were, technically for looking bad and unrealistic, and also just bad stories and characters. Even the ones that were supposed to teach moral lessons really didn't. And do you remember the insane witchhunt to bring down overly 'violent' cartoons for inciting children to violence?
In spite of all this, it was definitely a golden age of cartoons, or maybe silver age, I may have to lookup some animator blog. So many great cartoons and characters came out of all of it, and people and things that did teach you some things. After all, knowing is half the battle.
